Deadline to apply for our next AI cohort is May 5th, 2017 (program begins July 10th)

"NexusLab is an outlier in the incubator/accelerator space: small-batch, product-oriented, with a very relevant set of mentors and a truly committed and helpful team. Before the program was even over, we were able to raise additional capital. NexusLab is a no-brainer for startups from all around the world."

THE AI NEXUSLAB DIFFERENCE

We built off the success of the Future Labs at NYU Tandon to create AI NexusLab, our four-month acceleration program in partnership with ff Venture Capital (ffVC). Unlike accelerators with rigid curricula and a quantity-over-quality approach, NexusLab doesn’t lock startups into a set, cookie-cutter program or force founders to meet with an endless array of uninvolved mentors. The program is tailored to the needs of each team in the cohort.

Our mentors are hand-picked for each program and, sometimes, each team. They stay involved over the course of the entire program and beyond, giving you a chance to build relationships and ensure funders are invested in your success. We believe your time is best spent building your business, and our long-term, relationship-based mentor model succeeds in moving you closer to your goals by avoiding irrelevant and unnecessary meetings and mentors.

Each company accepted to the AI NexusLab also becomes part of the ffVC portfolio. In addition to a dedicated ffVC partner, each company receives support across all aspects of company-building from ffVC’s acceleration team, which remains accessible beyond the end of the program.

Each cohort is limited to a small number of startups — no more than seven per class. This allows us to bring in only the most pertinent, committed mentors and to provide a level of support not possible at unfocused, large-class accelerators. We believe each startup is unique, and any attempt to address your needs with a generic curriculum is ineffective and a waste of time.

"On day one of joining the NexusLab, we knew we’d made the right choice for our company. The program is set up to give each member company what it needs based on where they are right now. At no moment do you get the sense that you’re part of an assembly line. From the thoughtful choice of mentors to the above-and-beyond that everyone on the NexusLab / Future Labs staff goes to increase your chances for success, you’d be hard pressed to find a better program for startups."

"The NexusLab program far exceeded our expectations. It has provided us with valuable business connections, computing resources, and insights on how to run a startup. NYU's resources have been there every step along the way. We'd recommend the experience to every startup interested in jump starting their growth."

OUR HISTORY

Founded in 2009 as a partnership between NYU and the City of New York, the Future Labs are the longest running technology incubator in the city. Since that time, we have graduated 70+ companies with a total valuation surpassing $1 billion. Successes include firms such as CB Insights, Clarif.ai, and Geometric Intelligence, which was acquired by Uber.

Open to all seed-stage startups and boasting an unprecedented graduate survival rate close to 90 percent, with locations in SoHo, DUMBO, downtown Brooklyn, and an upcoming veterans-focused space in Industry City, the Future Labs have established itself as the city’s premier technology acceleration and commercialization hub.

"The NexusLab helped us land a pilot program with Daimler (Mercedes-Benz). It has been an absolute game-changer for our company."
